Psychologist Assesment Empty Psychologist Assesment

Post by sars3dd on 2nd May 2010, 3:27 pm

Hiya,
once again i apologise for not being around the forum, it all got a but to much for me.
Anyway i have my psychologist assesment on the 13th May and i am very nervous about this. If i dont get the all clear from her then i dont get to see the surgeon again. I am lucky i have the full support from my psychologist and am seeing her tomorrow to talk over the assesment on the 13th.

Has anyone had one of these assesment? I dont want to say the wrong things and look unstable and not get surgery or look like this isn't really an issue and still not get it. Oh if only you had a manual of things to say and do for this lol xxxxx

hiya chic! Psychologist Assesment 368291
obviously as you have read my posts you will know that i havent quite got this far yet! but i have spoken to some girl on forums, and the best advice i can give you is be honest-although it might be tempting dont try and lay it on about how your breasts make you feel (i dont mean that in an offensive way-lol!).

all the people i have spoken to about it have said that this assesment is there to ensure that a)your breasts affect so much so that this surgery will improve your wellbeing and b) that you are not mentally unstable, and psychologically your sound of mind to undergo this opperation.
things NOT to say:

  • your boobs make you feel sucidal, or that they have done in the past
  • they make it impossible to form relationships (feel free to say how they might affect sexual relationships, i.e being intimate)
  • you cant live with the way your breasts look now

hopefully this has helped you a little bit hun. not everyone has to have these done, cos some girls said that they had no experience of psychologists.

i must admit i am a bit nervous about this part, but just be honest, and tell them exactly how you feel about them and you will be fine!

xx

Hi Hun
I am sorry you are having such a rough time - I truly believe we should all have the same treatment.
When I spoke to the breast specialist I just told him simply that they weren't normal. I have suffered with panic attacks previously and i told him about that but I did not say it was related to my breasts.
Good luck xxxxxxxxxx

This best advice is to be truthful.

I got asked how they had effected my life from being a teenager to the present day. You can't really plan what you are going to say, just speak from the heart.
