Hi girls,
I've been visiting the site and keeping up with everyones stories since I first went to my GP back in April. After waiting for news from the PCT I got my appointment to meet a consultant on Wed (25th Aug) starting to get very stressed and worried about what to expect, and what they will test blood and urine for etc and what they will be looking for, after all the trauma of my journey so far I just dont want anything to surprise me if you know what I mean. x

hiya,
I am in scotland so its different from england. however when i seen my surgeon he asked what i was unhappy with, what i would like to end up like and asked to see my breasts. he then agreed that i met the critia for the op on the nhs, he then took measurements, explained what could go wrong and then let me try on implants in my bra. I then went for pre op photos. I have my pre-op assesment on the 25th for my blood tests etc. x

hi natalie. i'd guess you're just going to have a chat with the consultant and have an examination but you'd have your pre-op a couple of weeks before you op. i wouldn't think he would take any blood or urine tests on the first visit

Sarah - did you get long for the appointment? Time to ask everything you wanted? I've started writing my list of questions - only in my head so far but its REALLY long!

Thanks girls! Helped put my mind to rest. My letter for my appointment said to bring along a sample of urine (totally hoping it doesn't leek out in my bag haha!) so was just curious what they wanted it for. x

Eeek not really all that excited to be honest!! Getting very very nervous, the thought of having to get 'them' out is horrifying me but I know it has to be done. I'm just so scared that they are just going to tell me to sod off lol. Thanks for the good luck wishes xxx

Yeah they wrote to me to say that I had been accepted for funding under extreme circumstances and that i needed to make an appointment through the choose and book system. I live in Cumbria and the choices where I could go were all in the newcastle area, so have to travel 2 hours tomorrow for my app which isnt really any concern, but I asked the dr if the surgeon might say no when I got there and she said that they have never had that happen and no not really but it's still in the back of my mind. x

It sounds like you've already been referred so I'm sure you'll be fine. Can understand your concern though. Be sure to come back on tomorrow night and well us how it goes.

Good luck!!!
