One breast bigger than other post surgery
Hello Everyone, My names Jodi, Im new to this forum so a big hello from Switzerland:)))).
I have a little concern and was wondering if any of you ladies could help me out.
I had my BA on tuesday 11th May. I was an A cup and have gone to a C, I had silicone implants. Immediatly after surgery I noticed that my left breast was bigger than my right. 5 days on this is still the case. Is this normal? Im a worrier and I can get if out of my head :( I would be greatful for some help and advice.
Thanks so much,
Jodi

Hiya welcome to the forum :wavey:
You've only just had your op the other day so it's really common for your boobs to be healing at different rates, or have more swelling in one, they say to think of it as 2 separate operations so they wont be exactly the same yet.
Don't worry and
on the new additions!
xx

I have got one slightly bigger than the other as well but have been told it is just the swelling and everything should settle down. Not sure how long this is likley to take though. What size implants did you have?

Yes as the girls have said it is completely normal for one to be bigger than the other as your boobs will heal at different rates. This could be the case for weeks to come. I know mine started off the same size after my op then when they went through the dropping stage they were uneven as one dropped and looked bigger than the other. It's annoying but it usually evens out over time.

Hi Jodi, I was a 34a before the op and had small 240cc implants under the muscle. It is scary seeing one bigger than the other but hopefully it won't be long before they settle a bit x

Re: One breast bigger than other post surgery
Hi I am new here, i'm 24 days post op and one breast is still bigger then the other and higher, when I lift my arms up in the air i can really see a big difference between the two, i'm a bit freaked out by this, and think I will never feel confident in a low cut top or nice dress, boo.. I did have one slightly smaller breast to begin with aswell as a lower nipple on the right hand side, so I had a nipple lift on this side, and this is the small side.. I really feel i have no pain or swelling and have totally recovered?, I have read other posts and you girls have said this is normal and will settle can anyone tell me how long it took for theirs to settle. thanks so much xx

I'm posting an extract from my boobie diary for you hun, this was from when I was 3 weeks post-op which is just about the same as you are now and reading you reminded me so much of how I felt, so I'm hoping you get get some comfort from reading this and knowing that at 9 weeks postop my boobs started changing... by 12 weeks postop I had perfect symmetry and my boobs looked great hun.

Rightie is sooooooooooo much better looking now than before! but I am upset that they aren't the same, I just can't help it, if it was just a minor difference, I think I could cope, but it's getting worse. Right breast sits beautifully and is lovely and full, but left has dropped further and has fallen more toward the armpit and is very very soft, in comparrison to the right, it looks almost deflated - again! But without the swelling this time...
I could never wear a bikini like this, because the right has fullness all round the breast and left doesn't seem to have any fullness to the inside of the breast at all, so without a good supportive bra I seem to have a one sided cleavage! I really do feel like a right whinger, but to be honest, at the moment, I'm no better off now than I was before having this re-op, I just could not leave the house without having to disguise the differences.

9 months for mine to settle completely, you're so early in healing, try not to worry. You had 2 operations one on the right and one on the left, plus you had the nipple lift on the right, so they will heal at different rates.

Hi girls I'm new on here today bit of a nightmare trying to work it all out lol but its made me feel better reading you experiences. I had my BA 2weeks ago i was a 32 C and iv had 360cc overs i am now a 32 DD when i first woke up after the op i was like omg how big are they, but they have now settled a little and are sort of ok its just bugging me that i have one slightly bigger than the other and you can tell when i take photos of them and more so when i lift my arms up when i went for me 7 day check the nurse did say my left was slightly bigger but would go down but up to now its still the same i had 360cc in both so dont understand why one is bigger than the other !! im so hoping they end up looking the same. can anyone tell me how long its going to take? Its just i had my boobs done as a little present to myself after my husand left me for someone eles and now i dont want to get my new boobs out because i think they look uneven

Welcome to BJSF danni
If you think of your breasts as having a seperate operation on each one, it's very possible that you have one breast healing faster than the other babe and this is very common.
Give your boobs a little more time hun, at 2 weeks post-op you still have many changes ahead before you see the final result. xxx

Thanks Cookie feel a lot better now and iv been looking at all the other girls questions and answers and it seems quite common .. Yours boobs look fab on your profile pic if you don't mind me asking what size were you and are you now? i don't get how some people who have had the same cc as me can be c cups and I'm a dd do you think this could mean i could possibly go from a DD back down to a C? As i started off as a C cup and would love to stay a DD Ahhhhh Its so confusing lol Im so glad to here that its common to have one bigger than the other after a BA as i cant help but keep looking in the mirror at them and stressing that ones going to be bigger that the other forever as my boobe before the BA were more or less the same size it feels good to talk to people who have or are going through the same problems so thanks again hun

I don't mind at all hun. I was a 32B after having 410ccs I;m now an F cup.

The reason womens boob size varies so much even from possibly having the same size implant is due to the fact that we each have unique measurements that are individual to us. As well as taking the implant size into consideration you also need to take how much breast tissue you have into account and how much body fat you have, the shape of your rib cage is also a factor in determining your resulting size, so as you see hun, what size one woman might get from an implant size another may be completely different because her body measures differently. xx

Re: One breast bigger than other post surgery
I'm only 9 days post op but have a difference in them at the mo, had different size implants to even me up the first time so when I had reop I had the same difference in the new implants but whereas before they were a pretty close match now they seem more different but reading this has really helped put my mind at rest... it's too easy to start worrying isn't it?!

Re: One breast bigger than other post surgery
Just an update on my one side bigger than the other issue, last week I could see a big difference in the size, this week I can still see it but not so much!! Thankfully they seem to be even-ing out but still have a bit to go. I cheated the other day and went to Marks and got measured I couldn't wait another 2 weeks, I was a 34A/B pre BA, I asked to go up to a C cup my surgeon must have asked me 3 or 4 times if I was sure I didn't want a D, and I said no no C is fine..I had 365cc in each breast. You can imagine my sursprise on Saturday when the girl in marks told me I was a 34DD!!! No C cup for me then, but I have to say I was soooo happy with this measurment. I plan to go and get measured again just before xmas when I am 8 weeks post op I'm sure I will probably be a different size then aswell? I did get two nice full cup t-shirt bra's they are underwired, because I have my implants put in through my nipples I think I'm ok with the underwire at this stage, does anyone have any advice on this?
By the way when I did get measured the girl in Marks did mention the difference in the size of each breast, but I felt grand about it as I know-hope- they will settle in time and told her this.!!
