how long do you keep your sports bra on

i was just wondering how long it is that you have to keeo your sports bra on for after your op,
i was told 6 wks, but is that 6wks day and night, or a few weeks then just nights?

Yes different surgeons recomend different things, mine said 6 weeks 24/7 and I only took mine off long enough to have a shower.

Yes all surgeons seem to differ in their opinions on this.

I was told at my last check up, that I was now fine to wear underwire bras as I wish and to wear sports bra at night. I've just continued to wear my sports bra thou as I love the comfort of them! I did however wear my normal bras this weekend as it was my OH's bday, back in my sports bra now thou!

I wore mine for 6 weeks day and night but still wear them even now at night. I'm sure I'm going to have to have an uplift at some point and I want to stave this of for as long as possible.

I still wear my sports bra to bed too Sally, I'm giving my new boobs all the support possible to keep 'em where they are for as long as possible! thumbs up

I'm another sports-bra-at night fan. It's strange, in the time you have to wear a sports bra you can't wait to get out of it, then when the 6 weeks is up..well I sort of clung on to mine!

Don't worry hun, it soon goes and it's worth being religious about sports-bra wearing. Give your boobies the best start in life! xxx

At my one week check I was told like everyone else that my sports bra stays on day and night for 6 weeks... BUT ....
I am recommended an hour every evening to take my bra off, lie back on my V pillow and chill out - braless!!! Not heard anyone else say this but that's what I have been told! Have to confess tho, I give myself about 20 mins then I want to get it back on... it's a bit like a security blanket at the mo!!

I too was told 6 weeks at my 1 week check up. I was allowed to wear a noon-wire bra this week for a night out, but felt good to get back into my sports bra !! xxx

I saw him 1 week after my BA and he said the sports bra was simply for comfort. I tend to wear vest tops at home with no bra and did from about 2 weeks post op.

Ditto for me too.. but I also wore it bit longer whenever they ached a bit...

I've been told to keep my sports bra on day and night for 6 weeks in total and to only take it off when I have a shower. It's so comfy that I'm not too fussed at the moment!! xxxxxxxxxx

I had to wear mine for 6 weeks day and night. I was allowed to go without it for a little while everyday for a break (i.e half an hour) if I was at home if I wanted to.

As soon as my 6 weeks were up, that sports bra came right off! I only wear it to the gym now. I hate wearing a bra to bed!

I wore mine for about 3months hun!Although about 8 weeks during the day.Couldn't wait to wear normal bras in th eday,but was paronoid at night incase i squashed them!I still wear it though if im doing any exercise x
