Post by sue 24th November 2009, 2:42 pm

Hi,

I have just seen a plastic surgeon as i have had ruptured implant, he has mentioned this website as i have a number of questions to ask and havent a clue where to turn. I had my implants 2 and a half years ago, after about a year one of them ruptured, to cut a long story short i need advice on what can be done, where do i go from here. I am still paying off for the original implants that lasted 12 months and am now told that i need some lymph nodes removed as the silicone has attached itself to my lymph nodes and causing me great pain, surely there must be someone i can turn to for advice on compensation etc - i was told these implants had a 10 year guarantee!

many thanks

I'm not sure I can respond to your post here babe, I think you have to ask questions in the Breast aug section of the forum... I too have the same problem as you and am about to undergo a re-op... I'll be happy to talk things through with you Newbie - Ruptured implant 571992

What type of aftercare did you have hun, are you covered by the company for ruptures. Your implants will be guarenteed for 10 years which means they will cover the cost of the implant, but not the other costs.
You said you have seen a surgeon, wasn't that the surgeon you had your BA with? You have to go back to the surgeon/company you had your BA with for them to replace them.

OK... think I can answer now. LOL...

My surgery was done through Transform in 2006, I had Allergen CUIs... My implant was covered for a rupture for three years... when my implant ruptured I was 'just' within warranty so my re-op to cover the replacement of the ruptured implant was free, that also includes removing the lymph nodes, a night in hospital and all aftercare.... I had a further problem with my breats caused by the rupture (breast has expanded) and because of this I also need an uplift, I've had to pay for that myself though, it's costing me £3,000.

The aftercare and implant warranty will depend entirely on the clinic/surgeon you chose and the type of implant you chose...

Who did you have your first BA with?

Hi hun i agree with misf1, you should not have to pay for the new inmplants as long as it was a produce fault & not that you caused it by a fall, car crash ect...... also most companys i think cover you for free surgury for upto 3 years as there aftercare ( i could be wrong) again this only covers if its a complication & was not caused by you in a fall ,car crash ect

What company did you go with & what kinda aftercare have they given you? also what type & make off inplant did you have cui , pip ect

Thanx Hun x

Sorry to hear you're suffering with a ruptured Implant.

This 'should' be covered by your aftercare with your original company/surgeon so you should contact them to see what advice & help they can offer.

We are able to offer you help & support but do not know the aftercare you have so can't judge what you can & can't have done without a little more info into your situation.

It's not nice when surgery goes wrong and i am very sorry to hear you are going through this, i hope it can be resolved quickly and with as little expense to yourself as possible Hug x x
