One boob higher than the other

Post by leyla488 on 20th November 2009, 11:56 pm

I'm four weeks post op, after an uplift and BA and have an asymmetry issue at the moment.

In the last couple of days my right breast has moved down and become a nice shape, and generally looks lovely. The left one is about an inch higher, and not such a good shape.

Will the left one catch up with the right one, or will I be forever comparing my odd looking boobs.

Can anyone answer this for me please. How does it work?

Hi Stephy, yes I'm sure you will be delighted, Mrs Kat has an unchallenged reputation, particularly in the Midlands but I believe many are now travelling for her skills. Good news spreads quickly!

She is undoubtedly a perfectionist and an artist, with a warm gentle manner, and always the professional. I have only ever heard positive things about her, and she will give you an honest appraisal.

Her nursing team are excellent too, I've just called my support nurse for advise, they give you her mobile number so you can register a response call 24/7.

Mrs Kat likes sportsbras to be worn day and night for three months (not sure if this applies if you are only having a BA - but it does with uplifts as well).

My anchor and nipple scars healed very quickly and are already 'disappearing', my only issue is that my right side is currently recovering at a quicker rate than the left which the nurse thinks is because there is still some deep tissue swelling on the left side which would account for it being firmer and higher.

It's an anxious time, and if implants are new to you as they were to me, you don't really understand what is happening - and sometimes need reassurance.

I highly recommend Mrs Kat.

Hope all goes well, and I would love to hear how you get on.
xx

I would still like to hear from anyone who has had this asymmetry during the healing phase?

My left one is about one inch higher and still more towards the under arm area, rather than towards the centre of the breastbone (if you understand my meaning). It needs to move down and inwards to match up to the right one....

Hi Leyla

I'm pretty sure that it's all normal, especially with an uplift too :) You have to think of it as 2 separate operations with different healing rates x 4 weeks is still very very early (especially for an uplift too) and you are far far from the end result yet! I'm sure at your next check up your nurse/ps will be able to put your mind at rest x

I was worried my right was higher and smaller than my left, I was told it would all even out... and it did! xx

if its any consolation, my left one sank overnight and looked like a football and the rightie stayed up tight and high and looked like a grapefruit! I was gutted overnight literally!! I kept looking at them in the mirror and was sooooooooooo disappointed I thought I was deformed forever!!!! anyway, all the girls on here re-assured me it was normal.. at the time I didn't like leftie quite so much such a naughty boobie! that one always seems to be ahead of rightie however, very gradually over next couple of weeks down came rightie

what I did decide when leftie plummeted south was that I was going to wear my heavy duty sb religiously day & night and they were NOT allowed out at all except for showering & moisturising (NO scrutinizing at all in mirror), slapped the sb back on immediately and for two weeks I was not going to look at them, over this period was when rightie gradually caught up and leftie seemed to settle and stop ploughing into the ground!!

It is a worry, but they don't always do things together!! now I am nearly three months and they def have began to act more like 'twins' !! xx

Aw guys! Thank you so much for sharing these stories.

I really love righty, but I'm not too fond of naughty lefty at the mo! Righty does everything right, and lefty is left behind ...get it, lol!!

But seriously, it is a pain isn't it! I mean - my right boobie is perfect (well it IS to me) certainly compared to the old ones.

I will look forward to them becoming more like twins because at the moment they're not even behaving like siblings!!

Will keep you posted.
Thanks again.
