Feeling disheartened. Empty Feeling disheartened.

Post by Boobiesplease! 10th February 2016, 7:23 am

So to recap, at my 3 month check I was told that my right boob is bottoming out and I should wear a sports bra to squash it for the next three months in the hope that the bottom of the pocket closes by itself.

I'm feeling so disheartened by this, firstly I have small children who climb on me so there's no way not to disturb the breast. I can't just not play with them for three months, secondly it hurts all the time, it feels bruised I guess where the implant is falling out the bottom of the pocket and thirdly it looks like it's getting worse, my crease is now approximately 1.5" lower than on the other side and I'm worried it'll look rubbish if it's left for so long before its fixed.

What sort of leeway do you think I have to say i'd like it fixed surgically now rather than in three to six months time? I start a degree in September so I want it all sorted before that and was hoping to be able to go in the pool on holiday in August!
Sorry for the rant I'm just feeling annoyed that I've basically been told to suck it up for the next three months

So sorry for what your going through you sound so down. I know they don't like to re-op till 6 months but how set in stone that is I don't know. Can you try speaking to your surgeon again and let him know how much it's getting you down and impacting in your life. Xx sorry I can't be much more help just didn't want to read and run. Big hugs. Do you know why they like to wait six months? I could understand if i was complaining of it being too high and he wanted to wait but it's too low and getting lower so you'd think they would be keen to fix it ASAP. I've looked around on the Internet and can't see anyone who fixed it externally with pressure and a sports bra x

I really don't know why, if I was you I would make another appointment to see your surgeon and voice your concerns about having to wait. Personally I don't thinking wearing a sports bra is going to fix it xx

Hey hun, what a nightmare, I think I would try and go back to your surgeon. You don't wanna feel like your missing out on your kids and playing with them etc because of it.
Tell him how you have researched the Internet,to try and reassure yourself or the situation, and have found of NO CASES where wearing a sports bra has helped.

I would want to walk away with some kind of date in mind, of when he can re-op.
At least then you can think forward, knowing it's going to get fixed.

Good luck, Im so gutted for you.But it is fixable, try and stay positive.
Be strong and stand your ground.

Oh this is such a rubbish situation for you but I agree with the others - don't put up with it! Go back to surgeon and tell him everything you have just told us and how it is making you feel. It does just sound like he is telling you he can't operate until after the 6 months so just to put up with it until then. I was told by my surgeon that re ops can be done 3-6 months after surgery so it does sound like there might be room for negotiation there! If no joy with him perhaps get a 2nd opinion. It might be that he is holding off on a reop for your own safety - in which case you'd understand why and respect that. But he needs to be upfront and straight about it with you!

Have you tried posting on 'real self' to get some surgeons opinions? Might help to do that before you go back to see your surgeon.

Def make a follow up appointment. When my surgeon told me I 'might' have Seroma I got really upset and started googling stuff as I didn't understand what he's told me and when I bought it up with his nurse he called me right back in for a meeting, gave me a slapped wrist for googling and said I should never feel worried to ask him for reassurance on any concerns. I'm sure your surgeon is the same and would prefer you to get in touch rather than worrying about it and having all your questions unanswered.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I just wanted to second what the other girls have said. The only way you're going to get an answer is by visiting the surgeon again. In my experience with health and even plastic surgery, if you are unhappy about anything you need to kick up a fuss! It's YOUR body and to be honest, they will have no idea you are so worried about it unless you make yourself VERY clear about it. Get an appointment as soon as possible and get an idea of a date for a re-op. Will this be covered under their policy, you won't have to pay again will you? Also, if you're not happy that he's taking action quickly enoiugh, get a second opinion Give You

Again can't say more than the others had said, ring the clinic now, get an appointment. If you've got to wAit till 6 months then at least you can get a date booked. If you can reop in May, you should be healed for holiday in august and ready for September. Also getting booked will releave some stress over the situation and that can only be a good thing. Fingers crossed you can get the reop sooner than 6 months xx

Keep go in back. If he wont, see another THG surgeon.  Get a further opinion if necessary. But if it's getting worse, take lots of pictures and keept pushing them. If they keep heading south, it'll cause more problems. Make yourself as much a pain in the a to them as your boob is causing you.

I feel awful for you and completely understand how disappointed you must feel, it's almost like one step forward two steps back! If I were in your situation I would get a second opinion.. as to me it doesn't seem right, and even if it is then at least you are 100% sure that this is the only way to fixing it. Also I agree with the real self comment, as it's worth posting it on there to get multiple opinions from home. I hope you can get some answers soon hun xxx
