so I think I've got to that stage where you doubt yourself. I'm really having 2nd thoughts about this. I know it's something I've always wanted or thought I wanted. I just have all sorts going through my mind. Will it really make me happy? My hubby loves me the way I am.
Will I like them? Will anything go wrong? What if they are bigger than what I wanted? I've been on this website a couple of months now and seen a few posts like this and I guess it is normal to go through this. I've been so excited up until now I just feel full of dread.

It's the most normal thing to go through. What the hell am I doing! I'm putting myself under the knife for zero medical reasons. What if something goes wrong.

I think the best thing to do is try and remember why you started this process in the first place. All those reasons to research, book consults, and eventually book the big day. If you still feel they are valid reasons, it's just nerves. If you really start to question what you're doing, you can postpone or cancel. No one is going to take a knife to you without your consent.

Thanks charlii, I'm going to do some serious thinking over these next few days. Have a proper discussion with hubby and let him know how I'm feeling. X

Hello lovely!! I went through exactly the same - the serious worry lasted about a day but then I had nagging worries right until the last moment.

I hope my blues haven't put you off - I was worried about that! At the moment I'm finding it hard to justify why I've put myself in all this pain and ruined my nice toned and fit body but I will get it back - every day gets a bit easier and I can see a light at the end of the tunnel. Also you are having overs so you shouldn't find the recovery as bad.

I had thought about cancelling but my mind always just comes right back to wanting it again - I'm 37, I put this off for so many years so I had to go through with it.

I don't think you'd be human without having doubts but you've been excited about this for so long - you deserve this and are doing the right thing!

I had this exact same meltdown 2 weeks before my op remember? It's so normal!! Xx

Post by IFJG 19th December 2015, 10:12 am

Mrskelly I had these exact thoughts beforehand. I'm only 22 and thought am I doing this too young, am I going to look ridiculous? But then I thought seriously about it and focuses on the fact that I have wanted this for so many years. And most importantly, will I ever be happy with myself if I don't get this done? My partner was very happy with the way I was but that did not change the way I felt about myself. So seriously think hard about that question, whether you will ever be happy with yourself if you don't get this procedure done.

I don't have a single regret since I got them done. It's strange how quickly you get used to them. And my partner thinks they look brilliant when he was very wary before I got them.

Now I think back to how I was before and feel physically sick. I am so glad I've done this. No one is going to lie and say the recovery is easy but I've got to be honest mine was ALOT better than I expected. I didn't have any restricted movement in my arms except for one day. It's mainly the tiredness and lethargy that has affected me.

Just think about what YOU want. Nerves are so normal. It would be abnormal if you didn't feel nervous xxxx

Thanks ladies and no [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] it's not you that's put me of ha ha. I think it's just the normal doubts we all have or I'm hoping so. I'm 33 now and I've wanted this since I was a young teenager something me and my sister always talked about. She had hers done at 23 and was the best thing she ever did. I really did see a change in her confidence she was so much happier. Unfortunately she passed away at the beginning of this year at the age of 37 and I just so wish I could talk to her about it. She always told me if I had the chance to get it done. I think I'm just feeling down about everything as this time last year I spent  it nursing my sister and basically watching her waste away. So I suppose it's a number of things. Sorry for the really depressing post but it's just how I'm feeling. Just want to say thanks for all your support girls it means so much xxx

Oh bless you mrskelly - I do understand how you feel having lost a sibling myself - its hard this time of year isn't it!

But having seen how your sisters confidence changed should give you some encouragement - if she had no regrets then I'm sure she's up there sending you stop worrying vibes!

Thinking of you xxxx

Do you know lucky it's strange because I do think she is sending me these signs that everything's going to be ok. I know it sounds stupid but I just know she is. I think I'm going to start looking at the positives instead of the negatives. Xx
