Feeling anxious.. Empty Feeling anxious..

Post by daisychain15 22nd November 2015, 5:03 pm

Hello again!

I have now booked a date for my ba, which I am now feeling a little anxious about. I have always wanted smallish implants as my main goal is to have a natural shape and size for my frame. Every since I began to research getting surgery, I thought the teardrop shape implants were going to be the best for me as I don't have much boob on top and more underneath at the base, and plus I like the teardrop shape more anyway.

After worrying about rotation etc I kind of became more open minded about rounds. When I finally plucked up the courage to have a consultation, I met with Dr Alvi and felt he really knew his stuff and was very impressed with the private clinic. After explaining to him what I wanted and the natural look is all I want, he reassured me that teardrop implants wouldn't look any different on my frame than rounds due to the small size of them - 225cc-250cc and he preferred not to use them due to risk of rotation. After a long cooling off period, yesterday I re-visited him and on a whim paid a deposit to secure a date.

Last night I felt extremely anxious and didn't sleep a wink, feeling quite upset over it all - thinking that the round implants would be fake looking as I don't have much skin at the top, even though they will be positioned under the muscle.

Does anyone have any advice or reassurance for me as now I feel like I should have sought advice elsewhere too? :(

Thanks girls sorry for the rant just need to get it off my chest as I've not got any girl friends who have been in my position xx

I am now a small 32B, 5'5 and weigh about 8 stone.

Hello!! Is it just the one surgeon you have seen? I saw 4 different ones and I honestly feel it's a good thing to see a few because you get the difference of opinions and are then better informed to make a decision on that. But I absolutely promise u that rounds don't look fake unless you go big and deliberately want to achieve that look (some girls like that look)! My surgeon would never have given me rounds otherwise. Can u tell which girls on here have rounds?? You just can't tell as rounds settle into a tear drop shape over time anyway. Charlii showed us a link demonstrating recently and you can't tell the difference!

When is your surgery date? If it's a few weeks away yet then why not go and see a few other surgeons to set your mind at rest? You'll probably decide to stick with the one you have booked but in your mind you will know you've 'chosen' the right one!

Thats really good advice - thank you Lucy106.. yeah I might go to see some other surgeons just to see what they say. You've made me feel better already! And yeah I have seen that picture that Charlii posted too, I am just over thinking.

I have only seen one surgeon as I am quite a shy character and didn't really go out of my comfort zone to see other surgeons. It's so predictable that I'm worrying again as I am extremely indecisive and feel that I should of done things differently. Now I have paid a £500 deposit and panicking, but I agree that maybe to put my mind at rest I should seek other advice.

My date is ages away - 2nd Feb, so I have plenty of time. I am trying between 225cc and 250cc but feel the 250cc would be very big on me for what I want, I would love a big C cup size and maybe the 225 would give me that!

You don't have long to wait now I bet your super excited!! xx

I know how u feel don't worry - I keep over thinking it all worrying I'm going to big, changing my mind on whether to go back to 350cc that I chose originally!! But I've taken advice from every girl on here who says go for the bigger of the two sizes u are choosing between as you always wish you'd gone bigger!

Try for an appointment with the hospital group as its a full free consultation and you get to try on the sizers!

Yep it's been a long old wait since I booked bank in September but finally getting closer now! I'm soooo excited!! Your time will fly by - at least you have the fun of Christmas which will make it go past quickly! Xx

The picture really does say it all. Immediately after the op they will look weird fake and stuck on. But in time they will drop, fluff, and soften into a nice natural shape.

I really would have seen more than once surgeon...but then i only saw one (more through naivity) and mine turned out fine. Its more of a sanity check, to make sure they all suggest the sameish thing. If youre happy with your choice, stick with it. But theres no need to be nervous around the surgeons, theyve seen ig all and more before.

Like you said, theres plenty of time to change your mind.

I think we all get anxious and second guess ourselves, your having a small implant anyway so dont think you should worry about looking fake. look at some of the avi's on here and even the bigger implants dont look fake. x

Good idea to see some other surgeons for the opinions for sure but....just to let you know I spent years researching surgeons and found Dr Alvi and in my opinion he has the best results I have seen for what I am looking for (natural) and I was also looking for someone skilled with fixing asymmetry as it involves more skill than just an enlargement and his results were amazing really natural and his scars are super neat. I loved his work so much but in the end I went with a different surgeon as I am in Birmingham and decided I didnt want to travel up to Liverpool, but everyone I spoke to at Sthetix was really nice to me, really informative and understanding even though I messed them around with booking consultations and changing my mind several times because of the distance.

As for the round implants, the volume in them does eventually fall to the lower half of the shell and fill up the bottom more than the top, and they are flatter than an actual sphere aswell...i was worried about this too...so it is difficult for them to look so round and they will fill out in the bottom over time.

I know some girls that love the fake look and the idea of them being round like footballs, and as far as I am aware most surgeons don't like doing this as their first preference you will have to ask for it specifically and it will also involve really really large implants to create that effect and fill out the skin, so if you are asking for natural...a good surgeon will definitely achieve it...especially Dr Alvi :) xox

Thank you so much everyone for all your advice it has been extremely helpful and I really appreciate your opinions!

Wildflower - that is so reassuring to hear, and you have filled me with confidence about my decisions. I will see a few other surgeons just for their point of view on whats best for what I am looking for. Thank you again <3 xxx

It is almost certain that mr mcgeorge will suggest teardrop as he almost exclusively uses them. Don't that panic you, mr alvi is an excellent surgeon and it's just a personal preference thing I think. I saw both of them and however much I appreciate the experience mr mcgeorge has I found mr alvi incredibly thorough, kind, informative and genuinely interested in what I wanted to achieve xx

Do you think so - [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

I have always wanted a teardrop shape implant but as I only want around 225cc I don't know if there is any difference. I guess it will be helpful to see McGeorge but I don't want to be too swayed if it's just a gimmick. My breast tissue is mostly at the base and there isn't much tissue if any at the top.. thats why I thought rounds would be quite 'round' looking at the top of my chest.

Hopefully I will see some before and afters of his work which should help me decide.. with a £150 consultation I hope he is worth it haha!! Yours look fab in your picture btw! xx
