Post op bra

Post by Lousmith1 on 6th November 2015, 10:32 am

Hi everyone,

When purchasing a post op bra what size do I go for?
I'm buying one through THG website as its cheaper and it says " size is based on the back measurement of the patient" so if I'm a 34b do i purchase a 34, just checking before I buy.
It's not done on cup size so just wondering what other people have brought?

I brought a macom from [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] they do a x small, small, medium, large and ex large. They go on one size for cup as they stretch to what ever size implants. So you would buy a medium if you are 34. Xx

I was given my post op bra by hospital and it's a small, I am a 28/30 band. From reading other posts I would suggest to get your normal band size (double check using a tape measure) and get bra expanders for the first few weeks while your swollen xx

Before buying the Macom, check two things. One - your true band size. Double check you are actually a 34. Take a tape measure around your chest, and make sure its straight. Not too tight, but firm to the body. Whatever that reads, thats your band size. Do NOT add 4/5", which is what most places will do to fit you in the bras they have in stock.

Macom doesnt have the cup as it expands up to a HH fitting, so in my opinion, is one of the better ones to get immediately post op when you dont really have a concrete idea of your resulting size. I would get one size up from your band size to accomodate for the swelling.

Two - check the Macom website, as you can get 15% off if you put 'mybreast' in the coupon code. It might work out cheaper.
