All done!

Post by LittleFry on 15th April 2015, 5:30 pm

Well ladies,

It's all done, I had my uplift yesterday.
All went well, now home again and pain is starting to kick in a little...

So far, it looks good. Did you guys have to leave the dressings on for 2 weeks?
The nurse has given me a load of spare ones if I want to change them but I don't feel like I should touch be doing this at all...

I had my dressings on for two weeks, went to the nurse at my gp after 7 days for dressing change as too far to travel back to the surgeon. Removed dressings at 14 days and then left the steri strips to come off by themselves, that took bout 5-6 weeks.
Make sure you keep on top of pain meds and take it easy, use this as an excuse to put your feet up Hun  :ok:

Glad all went well! dance
I would leave dressings & wait until you see nurse or surgeon for wound check. the extra ones will come in handy if your dressings start peeling off, wouldn't remove existing one's would just stick another one over the top.
At my wound check the nurse removed my dressings and replaced them with steri strips, sometimes they can remove dressings and replace them with another dressing.
Rest  up & keep on top of your pain meds to keep you  comfortable.
Happy healing wishes heading your way! Stars

Thank you guys! That's all useful info.

I've been itching quite a bit, in different places on my body (stomach, head, neck, legs, arms, back), seems to be quite random. Has anyone else experienced this post-surgery?

It's quite common to be itchy, an over the counter antihistamine should do the trick. XXX

Thanks mirren001 :)

I also read that codeine that make you itchy, so that's probably it! :)

Hi Sarahlou222,

Not too bad thank you.
Yesterday, I had a bad day. Woke up feeling sick and vomited twice in the space of 2 hours. After that, I was really feeling off all day (weak and dizzy) and didn't really eat much. Not sure what that was all about.

Today I'm feeling better. My stomach is still a bit dodgy. Not much breast pain though... Went out for lunch and really struggled, was feeling quite dizzy and thought I was going to pass out. Thankfully I didn't lol
I think I might have low blood pressure, so going to drink more water and take it easy.

Hopefully tomorrow will be better :)

Hi LittleFry

oh no.. I wonder if that was the GA leaving your system.
Are you on any antibiotics? You could have an allergy to them.
Glad to hear you are feeling better today.
Yep I agree, plenty of fluids and keep your meds.

I hope you're feeling yourself very soon! Hug

Hi Sarahlou222,

Could have been the GA, not sure. I'd taken some Senna the night before, maybe it was that...

I'm not on antibiotics, no.
Starting to get pain in my breasts now. Stinging, sharp pain. I expect that's normal...

Hi there :)

Any noises, sharp pains, heat is all very normal. It's the connection tissue fusing back together again :)
You may feel it almost like sun burn (I only got a small patch of this which lasted about 3 weeks) some people does lasts long or shorter. Xx
