Hiya Langers. Nurse said because surgeon instructed me to wear strap for 6-8  weeks then to still carry on wearing it.  She said it will just promote the healing and shape etc.
No mention of Mr singh leaving either!

I see the nurse in 4 weeks time, then surgeon at the next one.  Either she didn't know or didn't want to say.

To be honest Langers with all the confusion you're being told I'd personally be seeking an appointment with your surgeon 'NOW'

Now it's not uncommon for nurses to be able to give out post-op instruction if there's no concern at all for your boob, such as suggesting you can remove the strap. Straps are only ever worn under surgeons instruction and they're generally given to you as part of what you paid for. So it is uncommon for you to be requested to buy your own.

What DEFINITELY isn't right is you being told to massage your boobs. Something just isn't right Langers and if not for yourself at least for other ladies who may also being badly advised I'd personally complain about this nurse and seek out an appointment with your surgeon ASAP. Either you need that strap or you dont. If you do then it should be back on and if you don't, you shouldn't be wearing it at all as it could compromise your healing. So you really do need clarification.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] did you have to buy your own strap too?

Oh right, maybe Mr singh is leaving the Birmingham one?!

No Cookie, I was given my strap at the hospital before I was discharged.

That's what I thought. It's highly unusual to be requested to buy your own strap.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] as you're both from the same clinic, it doesn't matter that it's a different area you shouldn't have been needed to buy a strap for yourself. In all my years here not one woman using transform has ever bought her own strap. I'd ask for a full refund if the surgeon requested you buy it and wear it. That's just wrong.

I was given one strap and bought another myself. The nurse took the strap at my appointment yesterday and put it in the bin.  I am confused to hell as what to do. My boobs are looking good and are beginning to fill out after wearing the band though

Maybe ring them and say your concerned. Did Mr singh write in your notes about how long to wear strap?
In my notes he'd written 6-8 weeks, nurse said that there must have been a reason for him to write that length of time and it would really be down to him to say otherwise.

Ahhhh, I see.

I honestly think you should see your surgeon babe. Bypass your PCC. They're no good and are there to keep you away from thir PCC until your 6 week check up and their focus will be for saving any consultation slots for new clients, so call the reception and don't say anything other than you'd like an appointment regarding Breast augmentation to see Mr Singh. With him leaving you may be asked to see a different surgeon, but you're going to have to do this anyway, so just see the other surgeon and get thief to take a look for you.

The band is only an aid to apply force to your breasts. Generally if the skin/muscle is tight. They don't help to fill out your boobs babe. This takes a long while yet to happen and at just 11 days post-op you've a way yet to go. I'm talking months sweetheart and there's nothing you can do make it happen any quicker than your body will allow for.

It's a MASSIVE waiting game when you have this surgery, but the results really are worth the wait. I wouldn't want to see that nurse again though and with the conflicting advice you've been given I'd definitely see a surgeon hun. Xx

So you should. It's disgraceful the advise you've been given.

If the strap is irritating you in any areas, such as under your armpits you could always buy some cotton wool wadding and rip some off and tuck it into those places to help act as a nice soft cushion for you between skin and strap.

Do please listen to the hospital babe. It really is important shes reprimanded and told she's not a bloody surgeon and shouldn't be advising as if she were. I'd personally give her the boot though and wave her goodbye out the door.

Do it for yourself Langers and for all the other women you'll be helping in not seeing her also. Xx

Good job you rang the hospital!  Hope your pain eases and that nurse is reprimanded!

I've cut the toes off a old pair of socks and put them on the strap, so doesn't irritate underarms or chest. Mine was rubbing under arms and making front of chest itch! Roll on 6 weeks!
