Areola reduction... Empty Areola reduction...

Post by Lily26 2nd January 2014, 8:37 am

Hiya ladies!!

Just wanted to ask a couple of questions, consultation in 3 weeks (hoping to book straight after!!) and I have a random query.

With an areola reduction how do you/ your surgeon decide on the size of your new areolas after reduction? Or is there a standard sort of size?!

Also does anyone know if having the areola reduction would prevent you from being able to breastfeed in the future? I have 2 children already, which is enough for me! Haha but wondering out of curiosity!

Thankyou and sorry for the random post!! X x x

Can't help much with this but didn't like to read and run.
I imagine depending on the size of your implant, the PS will then do the areola to suit, so it is in proportion.

As for breast feeding : No idea, I know women who have BA go on to Breastfeed, not sure with areola change.

Thankyou krizzooo1! Really nice of you to reply :)

That totally makes sense re areola size, thinking about it they wouldn't give a woman with very big implants the same size areolas as a woman with much smaller ones as it wouldn't look right!

Thanks again lovely :) xx

If it's just an areola reduction your having and not a full breast lift would imagine there wouldn't be a problem in breast feeding, your surgeon at consultation will advise you on this and sizes of areola. They do all different sizes to suit breast size and look you are after, have you had a few consultations ? as it always better to have more than one to get their opinions and find the surgeon you are confident in getting you the results you are after!
Good luck with your consultation and let us know how you get on. XXX
