Post by mrs mac 23rd April 2013, 8:36 pm

Hi everyone. After waiting just over a year to finally getting an app through to see a psychiatrist my app has been confirmed fot 8th may st Glasgows Royal Infirmary. But to tell you the truth i feel sick at the thought of it!! This is my 2nd referral from my GP in 6 years. Last time i got to this stage and met with pdychistrist i was rejrcted on the grounds of showing signs of anxiety and depression! well of course this is affecting me or i wouldnt be putting mysrlf thtough this! now with my app looming in a few weeks im a in slight meltdoen mode incase i am rejected again off the back of a single pdychayrist mtg. Can anyone offer any advice? what are thry likely to ask me? i find it difficult putting my feelings into words without getting embarrassed and upset and im worried they will think im some depressed anxious lunatic. i feel its such a fine line. sorry im rambling now, i'll stop lol. any advice would be appreciated.

Congrats on getting back where you are mrs mac and I sincerely hope this time things go much better for you leading to surgery in the near future Hug

I'm no help at all with NHS advise because I've never been down that road myself hun but hopefully there will be someone along soon who can advise.

You'd really think anyone would be understanding of someone being anxious and depressed if a part of their body affects their daily lives wouldn't you???

I dunno... Maybe its just the luck of the draw hun and this time hopefully your luck is in - good luck sweetie. Xx

Im going through the NHS aswell, and it literally took me a week to get an app. Im also going to the GRI but mine is the 17th June with Mr Telford.
My only advice is to stay calm, tell them exactly how you feel and they should understand...not all surgeons are scary :)

I haven't had my 1st appointment yet. I mean it took a week for gp to refer me. I have 1st consultation on the 17th june. My gp said im measuring an A cup on left and a D cup on right and also that she doesnt think I'll need 2 meet with psychiatrist. I hope not as im an auxiliary nurse an cant keep asking for time off lol.
