If I knew then, what I know now......

Post by lisa214 on 6th May 2009, 9:50 pm

I thought this might be helpful to pre op
ladies. I wanted my BA doing for years and thought I had researched
enough, it was only in January I found this site and wish I had read
more posts pre op. I have been thinking about what would I change about
my BA if I knew then, what I know now......

1. When doing the rice test, I wore a tight top and pulled my
stomach in so I got I got a great figure and great size boobs, however,
I should have tried the rice test in other, maybe baggier clothes too
and relaxed my stomach to get a more realistic visualisation.

2. Checked out the BDW of my pre op breasts and looked more into
profiles and what they achieve. I would have gone for a higher profile
as my PO boobs look less prominent and feel quite wide.

3. Checked out the implant catalogues.

4. I took pictures of the look I'd like to achieve and forgot to show the surgeon! So take pics ladies.

Does anyone else feel they could have achieved a different result in hind sight????

I think the PS basically has the last say, so even if we go in saying we want this and that he always suggests what would be the best option and we go with that since he's the professional.

Its also hard to know until you see the final result if its close to what you wanted.

Before I had my op, I used one of those online programs where you could adjust the breast size in cc and projection on this doll by entering your measurements, but I completely forgot about this when I went to the consultation and just gave the surgeon the cup size I was aiming for, which didnt prove very helpful for him.

I wish they had this program at more clinics because I think its pretty accurate to give the PS an idea of what you want and if its possible.

On hindsight, I would have also preferred higher profile and getting my original asymetry fixed (which I said to the PS that it didn't bother me), taking in more photos, but overall I'm ok with them as they are a lot better than what they used to be.

To be completely honest, its not that Im unhappy, they are just not what I expected at all. I was told I could have no more than 300cc and should have a moderate profile and I trusted his judgement. They do look slightly too wide for my frame and I did ask for more projection than what I have. They do look great though and I can push them in and up to get a cleavage ect....but Ive also got a problem with my right boob and find out this Tues if I need a re-op. I'd rather not have a re-op but if I do need one I will ask for a higher profile and slightly larger implants and hope they say yes.

If my boob prob can be sorted out without a re-op then I would be happy with my boobs.

As a pre-op girl I find this post helpful! Now that I'm at the booking stage I do sometimes think do I know all I should to make such a life changing desision, what if something goes wrong ect. I guess feeling happy with the PS is a big part of this. I hope everything goes ok for you on tuesday good luck! xx

It was Dr Tondu at Elyzea, I cant fault them at all, I just think Im one of the unlucky ones who dont get it right first time. Im 9wks PO tomorrow and in agony with my right breast. It feels like the implant has come through my breast tissue at the bottom (if theres such a thing???). Its really hampered my everyday normal life. My daughters dont even hug me properly cus they know Im sore  and I cant even mash potatoes (I had to put that in cus I tried last nite and couldnt, so boiled potatoes it was lol). I dont regret a thing though and just want it sorted then I can enjoy having the boobs I waited so long for!!! :)

If i knew then what i know now, i would say bigger isnt always better ans isnt for everyone. Trust your surgeons recommendation, i wish i did. Dont expect to love them straight away, sometimes it takes a while for them to grow on you x

I second what Nads said.

Also, I didn't put enough emphasis on implant measurements. I had no idea what the projection was going to be, although I knew the diameter. It's just fortunate I had an amazing surgeon who really know his stuff.

Another thing... research the make and model of the implants you're to be having. If you're not 100% on them, then choose another brand.

I did this too much! Hysterical Its great to be aware of your BWD and what will fit and i would definately recommend all pre op girls get in the know about that

Yes i am very pleased, they suit me very well, luckily you do get used to them like most girls say and i know they arent that big but my ps said 240s and i pushed for 275 because of pressure from a certain forum and now i realise 240s would've been perfecto!
