Got my first consultation date! Eeek!
The letter finally arrived his morning and I'm finally meeting my surgeon for the first time on 3rd November! What should I expect at this consultation? How long will it take?
I'm so excited - it finally feels real!! Woo hoo!! X

Thanks girls:)
Vicci - yeah I'll keep you posted!
Misty do you have any advice on the questions I need to be asking? I've done google searches but I'm just a bit overwhelmed by how some people word things and it just gets me confused lol. I know the obvious ones like what I'd want him to do, would he do it etc etc & I've got pictures to take with me too.
I'm thinking of going on my own to see him, is this a good idea? What happens at your consultation? X

Re: Got my first consultation date! Eeek!
Hiya!! oh how exciting!
well when i had my first consultation i had no questions ready, no pics ready and just went up by myself lol! have you had your full yes yet? or is this consultation for the surgen to give you his final answer?
my first consultation was for him to see if i should have a yes for surgery so didn't have any questions as i knew he would just be having a look at me and going over my notes again, which he did and then i got my yes.
The first consultation with him after getting my proper yes i still didn't take anything or anyone with me lol. they explained everything i needed to know tbh and asked me what size i would prefer and suggested i had over the muscle instead of under and that my size would basically be decided on the day of the op which i dont mind!
I went up thinking i would have no say whatso ever and was happy for them to decide everything but now looking back i would probably have taken pics up! i will be taking pics in to my pre op tho!
Any other questions just ask away!

Hmm.. I think I need to call the hospital and clarify because I have a letter that says my funding is approved so I thought I'll definitely have the op? Doesn't sound like the case :(
I'll call them tomorrow to try clarify my letter with appointment date says this is a consultation only??... X

i think you should be fine then if your funding has been approved! because im in Scotland its quite different, there's no funding thing to go through its just all plain sailing through the surgeons decision if you know what i mean lol x
