Hi lovely,
Surgery on the NHS isn't very common, which is why this is a bit of a quieter forum.

Re: Has anyone else had a yes and just waiting?
Hi! I've had my initial consultation after being referred by my consultant. The Surgeon's said yes, and the PCT met last Tuesday, when my case was due to be discussed, so just waiting to hear an outcome now. Bit of a waiting game on the NHS!

Hiya, how are you now? It seemed like i waited ages to. But the 15weeks from your surgeon giving the go ahead for surgery goes really quick x

Re: Has anyone else had a yes and just waiting?
Saw your post and thought I'd let you know I had my BA on the NHS !!
I had it done last thursday - so if you have any questions feel free to message me!
I had a fair bit of waiting around between appointments and waiting to hear back for dates, but the whole process from Dr office to the surgery was only 3 months.. But As lucky as my surgery date was actually a cancellation date !
Good luck with it all :) xx

Ella, how did you find out when your PCT met...I've had a letter from the sugeon saying he's going to ask them for funding but didn't say when they would be doing this??

Re: Has anyone else had a yes and just waiting?
Hi Sammy!
I was told that my GP would prepare the case and send the exceptional circumstances paperwork to the PCT (I think this is pretty normal), so I asked them what date the hearing would be, and they found it out for me....They apparently meet once a month. HOWEVER, it turned out that apparently that was just a preliminary meeting! The proper meeting where the decision was taken happened a month after the initial meeting (last wednesday), and I'm now waiting to hear whether they decided to fund it or not.
From what girls on here have said though, it sounds like PCTs work very differently from each other! If it helps, I'm with Cambridgeshire PCT. My GP, has been really helpful and patient with my constant phonecalls, but they very rarely prepare exceptional circumstances cases, as they're a small village practice - so it's worth being aware that often they don't always know much about the procedure, and it's worth getting direct contact details for your PCT's exceptional cases panel, so you can talk to them direct. (You can normally find them online by googling your PCT name - eg. googling Cambridgeshire PCT exceptional cases panel.) I guess if your surgeon is putting in the request though, he'll hopefully know more about it! Maybe try ringing your surgeon's secretary?
Hope that helps :-)

Hi,
I'm sorry I'm completely new and just happened upon this site.
I'm 28 have had 2 kids 9yrs apart and scared to ask my GP.
I hate how I look and I feel bad for my boyfriend. Could you give me any help/advice?

Re: Has anyone else had a yes and just waiting?
I've never posted in this part of the forum yet even though im going on the NHS too.. lol :D
i've had a yes and am on the waiting list!
i was put under as 'certainty' within 6 months... i recieved that letter quite a while back and my surgery is happening either end of next month or first week of september - Guaranteed! YAY... So excited!!
zippysgirl: dont be afraid to ask your GP hunni. thats how i sorted my situation out. I didnt even know i'd need surgery but when my GP saw me, she referred me to a specialist and now im getting it done for free. The faster you get seen the quicker it should go. But just remember not everyone gets accepted on the NHS!
hope other ladies can help you where to go next...
