difference between american and british surgeons

Post by abbie on 26th February 2011, 4:27 am

do you think American surgeons tend to go bigger than UK surgeons, or is it the customers that insist on bigger?

I have been on an american implant site a few times recently, but pretty much EVERYONE wants to get at least 400cc, usually more like 600+, and often a lot bigger than that, and thats with very slim girls. They all tell each other to go as big as they can, and post pics of tiny girls with MASSIVE hooters as inspiration.
It was doing my head in a bit. It seems very culturally different to what we go for in the UK. Most of them it seems wouldnt bother with a 200 or 300 implant, wheras that seems to be the sort of size range most surgeons in the UK push for.
I wonder why this is?

I blame advertising and TV in America it's constantly shoved down their throats that women should be tiny and have big boobs (pamela anderson style) I think the UK is catching up but it's not quite as bad yet. Not that there is anything wrong with that look I'm just generalising on why I think there is a difference.

I actually came here bc i didnt like their sites. They arent friendly like on here either..
im in canada, and i know a cpl of ppl are from the US on here, and im not sure what their surgeons tell them, but mine wouldnt let me go bigger than 400cc, and im really not that big ... i had bigger boobs after i had my daughter and was breastfeeding naturally than with my implants so far. I think just the more popular sites are where models etc go are what you find on the net for US, and bc they are doing it for look they do tend to go big boob tiny girl... and for the PS its good free advertizing.

as far as ps advice, james said he wouldve done totally different with me than my PS did, so there is defenitely different ways in each country and what each is used to i think... which i like about this site, everyone kind of went for different things and some the same, its nice to be able to ask questions and compare stories.

xoxoxoxo love you aussie/uk girls :)

Coincidentally I found the same on a couple of Aussie ones. They tend to advocate going quite large too, from what I've seen.

In america it seems fashionable for it to be obvious that you've had work done but over here people want to keep it more natural looking.
Do the girls on that site still get boob greed ? Xx

I'm from th US born and raised in Northern California and a agree and disagree. To answer the question about " is it the PS or is it the lady's choosing to go so big" question I think it all depends on the PS. The PS is supposed to do what's best for his client but who is he to tell us how big we can or can't go he can only recommend his perfesional opinion and as long as it is safe then he will do it! My PS took measurments of my body frame and took in consideration that I have had three kids and came out with 600cc! My jaw hit the floor when I hear him say this because I bought that I would look like I had watermellons in my bra lol. But he assured me that it would only take me up to a D maybe a small DD. The first thing I told my PS was that I wanted a natural look not too big not too small and I specifically said NO pamala Anderson boobs! lol
There are many women that I see on tv here that have overly large implants and that has no effect on me wanting to go bigger, in my opinion it's not attractive but everyone has there own opinion and likes different things (so no offense) Ive got to say that I have never seen ANYONE out in public or in real life walking around (not on tv) that have had massive boobs and I have lived in two major states and have been around. I think that tv in general gives VIPs a bad image of what a real women looks like expecially a lot of porn stars lol
So I guess my answer to ur question ahoy American PS is it's the client who ask to go bigger but it's the PS job to keep u safe. Some famous big time PS like from Hollywood will do anything for some cash and it's pathetic! And I agree with some ofthe others who posted a reply to this, that
American websites ( forums) are not good! They seem more judgemental and vain! On here it's all about helping one another and sharing your feeling. That is the reason I am on this forum! My fiancé was in the army and he was stationed in Germany before he went off to irac and he agrees with me that the way people treat one another over there is completely different then over here. It seems like you guys are more laid back and caring and over here in America we are alway on guard and judgmental of one another.
We plan on taking a vacation to Germany and liverpool in a few years!

I am in Canada and my surgeon will not do big implants. He likes to try and give a natural look which I am really hoping to have. Not much time left......

I wouldn't say everyone on here was trying to talk you out of it AB I have big implants and love them, but I always say each to their own. x

i can see its good for that. They definitely egg each other on to go bigger.

I FIND THeres a bit of an atmosphere of women being in competition with other women. Not with everyone of course, but a lot. Thinking that everyones jealous of their big tits.Doing it to get attention off guys. Dunno, cant put my finger on it. Probably just a cultural difference.
I still go on there, so i guess it cant be all bad. I do feel a bit out of place though. I feel much more at home here
