Will my period affect the operation???

Hi Ladies

I'm having my uplift/BA on Monday - can't wait although a little nervous!
Although what I really need to know is it still alright to go ahead with the procedure if Im on my period?? Im not as of yet but due NOW!! ;/

Should I mention it? will they take into account I may be very slightly bigger as Im due, or will it make no difference at all??

It wont make any difference hun, you will be fine to be on your period at the time of the operation. Although they may want you to wear a pad into the theatre, so I would let the nurse know when she brings you your gown and surgical stockings.

I actually started my period the morning of my op hun, it wasn't a problem. Good luck for Monday, let us know how you get on. xxx

they should ask you when they take your pre-op obs, when the date of your last period was, so just say youre on then. I was on mine for my op last week and it wasnt an issue. They didnt make me wear a pad

I was on mine as well, just as misf1 said just let the nurse know when she brings in all your stuff. Mine was pretty light though due to the stress of the surgery (actually thought I was pregnant...worst feeling ever!!!!) maybe you'll be lucky and start after.lol!
