Boobs doing strange things in the night
Hello -- please can i have your advice ladies?
i'm two weeks post-op and until now everything's been fine -- bandages are off, boobs look lovely and are starting to soften. i've had the dreaded morning boobs every day but it's always worn off and i've not been too bothered by it.
last night though i couldn't sleep for the pain of my swollen boobs -- from about 3am i was totally sleepless. the left side was bigger than the right, with a strange texture in the bottom curve -- not exactly lumpy, but not smooth either.
now that i'm up they feel better and smooth again, though the left side is still more uncomfortable and bigger.
i had 275 cc unders, with incision around the nipples.
does this sound familiar to anyone?
thank you so much
xx

Is it possible you overdid things yesterday Ava?
If you do a little too much your body sure does let you know hun! You may ache, or have some swelling which as seems to be the case with you settles with rest.
Just be sure to take things a little easier sweetness, sometimes when we feel good it's easy to get carried away and think we're fine when in reality although things look good on the outside, we're still very much healing on the inside. xxx

I have a little rippling which is noticeable when I lie on my side but only by touch, not visibly. Are you sleeping on your side? I guess that could cause swelling?

i'm not lying on my side -- though i'm DYING to! have been trying to sleep propped up still but am very fed up of it.
i think maybe i overdid things. i had a restful day but then did the washing and cooking and clearing up and carried the baby about for a bit. it's so hard not doing this stuff though! my husband has been great but after two weeks i feel like i should be doing my bit.
thanks ladies

It's not unusual for one side to be more sensitive and painful than the other. You have to think of it like two separate operations really. If you've been carrying any weight in your arms - shopping, babies! - then that's probably what's done it.
I used to occassionally get that strange squisihy feeling at the bottom of the breast - it's just the implant. I think it was 6 months plus before it finally stopped. SH said that when the capsule eventually heals internally around the implant you don't notice it so much. I can still feel the very bottom of the implant if I choose to have a good feel - my bf doesn't seem to notice though!

Hi Ava. Sorry to hear youre worried sweet. Have you had your first post op check yet? If not it might be worth ringing your clinic to have a chat? They might know exactly what it is and immediately put your mind at rest and stop you worrying. Xxx

thank you -- i had first post-op at 10 days and all was great. i've emailed my surgeon to ask what he thinks.
annie -- that 'squishy' feeling is exactly what i mean. not very nice at all, sort of lumpy but not. :pale:
guess i'll just try not to think about it too much and try to bag some sofa time!

I took the post at work which was quite heavy, without thinking 2 1/2 weeks post op and was aching for about 4 days, i did feel ok but i knew i had over done it. It is hard when you have things to do, just try to be careful xx
