Burlesque Teacher - will they be ok by Jan 2011

Hey ladies,
Will i be ok by January to dance as i am a Burlesque Dance teacher and performer. I had my Ba on 16th November and heard that i shouldnt be dancing until 6 months after is that right?? or can i dance by Jan. i s anyone else a dancer or a runner and how long did you wait?

I'm not so sure about dancers hunni but we've quite a few runners here.... I'm sure they'll be along soon to offer their advice babe, but in general from what I know you should all being well be able to start excercising again no problem after your '6 week' recovery period. xxx

Hiya, I am a martial arts instructor and I was told it was best not to go back doing it for minimum 6 weeks. I'm going to miss training but you can imagine I have to be extra careful with my boobies so they don't get punched or kicked! As for your dancing just make sure you wear a good support bra and perhaps go back into it slowly. Good luck (I love Burlesque dancing by the way - would love to learn, but I'm sure you're miles away from me!)

Im a dancer. I do freestyle disco dancing, not sure if you know what that is...Its very high powered dancing with a lot of running jumping spinning. I explained this to my ps and he said i should be sensible and give it at least a month, then get back into it slowly! Im pre op though. Hope this helps x

I would double check with your surgeon, but the norm seems to be six weeks.

thank you ladies, i thought it was 6 weeks but was being told all different things lol. going to contact my nurse today just to make sure.

Hey Nat - yeah i do know as i have done it before i love it but not as much as i love Zumba at the moment.

Hannah I teach with Polestars we are across the UK so we might be teaching in your area! I am based Devon and Cornwall but also travel to cardiff and bristol to teach :-)
