should I go bra-less tomorrow??

Post by shakira on 17th November 2010, 7:38 am

Hi All ,
I have a big party tomorrow night and have an amazing backless dress that I really want to wear, I will be exactly 4 weeks post op tomorrow and will probaly be out at the party max 5 hours!! Should I go bra less or would it be too soon? The nurse did say to me when I was leaving the hospital that it would be ok to take the sports bra off for a couple of hours if I wanted too? don't know what to do, really want to wear this dress, and boobs look amazing in it, was goin to get them invisable bra things, which are basicly two strips of tape to wear to keep my nipples down? anyone any thoughts xx

When I was 3 1/2 weeks I wore a strapless flimsy bra for a wedding and I have to say I was uncomfy all day and the next day my boobs ached like mad. I wouldn't do it again Im afraid x

Hi when will get the chance to wear the dress again ? if it is not too long i would personaly wait and i'm sure the other girls will say the same, but at the end of the day it is up to you. I'm sure you'll get the chance to wear it again this year with the christmas celebrations just around the corner :)
Not the answer you wanted to hear i sure but it will be worth it. x

Sorry to say but I wouldn't risk it hun. I know that's not what you wanted to hear. I asked a similar question at a few weeks post op and after seeing all the girls advice telling me what I already knew, I decided not to risk it. Its always best to follow your PS advice - why not ring and ask?

I think you should be fine hun .. Iv been given the okay to go bra less too if I need to, would be alot better than for you to opt to wear a normal bra. Just take things easy, dont drink to much and enjoy all the envious glares!!

People heal at different rates so what might be fine for one lady might not be fine for another.

You should always follow the instructions given to you by your own surgeon based on how your own healing.

IMO it's just not worth risking your boobs for the sake of a night out without seeking the approval of your surgeon first. You have the rest of your life to enjoy your new boobs after your instructed time in a sportsbra, so don't rush your recovery hunni, it's just not worth it fot 1 night out. xxx

oh what to do , what to do? the thing is all my dresses are size 8 and with my new boobs none will go over them apart from this dress! mixed response there, but I think I will leave it and find something else to wear after all it is only two weeks until i am out of sports bra for good. thanks ladies xx

I'm healing really well, thankfully, not a problem , I'm back to see surgeon on the 5th..I had a nipple lift on the right boob and implants were put in that way, its amazing hardly notice the scare at all. I too at the moment have one bigger and higher than the other , I'm hoping this will settle in the coming weeks, I hate the sports bra's as am restricted to wearig t-shirts, not even that I want to show them off just want to wear nice tops etc..Will you keep me updated on your progress xxx
