when did you resume home duties?
Hi ladies!
Just wondering when you all started back doing things around the house such as laundry, and cleaning ect?
I am only one week post and my ps doesnt want me lifting anything heavy or pushing anything until 4 weeks... and I have help for another week but after then I am going to have to get back to my usual home duties... so do you think I will be able to get back to it by then?
Thanks for the advice!
xx

Re: when did you resume home duties?
im not sure if i am doing the right thing, but i hvae already started doing things like washing and loading the dishwasher, cleaning the cupboard doors down, i am a cleaner and have to go back to work next week i only took 2 weeks off, my ps said thats all i would need. but i am hearing alot from here that they have had to have 4 weeks off. it does take alot out of me to do things around the house but i only had people round for me me the first week.. now i just have to get on with it. i have starteddoing the school run again this week getting back to normal. but i am feeling it i must admit......

I started doing light things after a week or so but not too much and nothing very heavy, just listen to your body and take it as easy as you can manage.

Absolutely - You should be fine at 5 weeks post-op to start resuming all housework, just no heavy lifting until you get the all clear from your surgeon sweetness. xx

Re: when did you resume home duties?
i just think if you tell the other half that they are doing a fantastic job with the housework, and you will show how much you appreciate them when your boobies stop hurting then they hopefully will keep getting that hoover out and loading the dishwasher lol. i know mine is very eager to enjoy them lol..

Re: when did you resume home duties?
dont, you lot are making me all envious, being single the only thing i am going to be doing is the boring house duties LOL. as for the boring house duties i did loads today including all the hoovering which is kind of the first time i have hoovered since the op. i still find stretching and opening heavy doors and things like that a bit painful and i am 5 weeks today. dont over do it sarahdawn as you had an uplift as well. just do as much as you feel comfortable with and take it easy!
as for the 'other' i say go for it!!!!

Hey I milked it as long as possible but I could have been OK to start 1 week post op, you had more work done so take it easy, you don't want to pop a stitch like my friend with 4 kids and panic.

Re: when did you resume home duties?
Hey Sarah, just been reading through my Pre and Post Operative Regime my ps gave me and it does say under Day 2 and subsequent - "to start building up movement and activity as much as you feel you are able and remember "if it hurts, don't do it". Full aerobic exercise from around 6 weeks."
So like the girls say listen to your body. He also gave some advice on the "other" home duties and again "if it hurts, don't do it". Which I think goes without saying.....for most people anyway!!!
How did your kids react or haven't they noticed?

The kids have not noticed or even asked anything about the day and night I was away, and they havent even been curious about why my mother in law is staying with us... I just told my oldest that I have a sore tummy so they have to be gentle with me and they have and my oldest keeps kissing my tummy! So its been been no problem with them I worried for nothing.
