sports bras are EVIL!

Post by sars3dd on 29th September 2010, 1:44 am

i hate sports bras, i have spent a small fortune getting fitted for them, find them uncomfy and clothes with them is a nightmare. i even gave in today and bought maternity bras to wear for a bit when am watching telly.

anyone else hate the sports bras or is it just me? think its cause am stuck in them for months till after my second op x

I also found mine comfy as well. It was winter when I had my ba, so it wasn't difficult to hide the sports bra, I don't think I would have coped as well in the summer months. xx

What are those 'post surgery bras' for? I've seen some that actually look quite pretty, nicer than sports bras! x

They're non-wired bras that are designed for support post surgery, but it may not be BA surgery, if you know what I mean? I'm sick of wearing my sports bra already and it's only been 4 days xx

Sports bras can be unflattering and for a few weeks post op while you are swollen they are quite uncomfortable. It does get easier though. You will probably find underwire much more uncomfortable for a while. You need to get used to wearing them again. Dont worry though the time flies by.

Agree with misf1 - the time has flown by for me. I still wear my sports bra to bed and if I'm slobbing around the house or doing house work. I save the nice bras for when I leave the house :)

There's a thought. I NEVER wore a bra to bed pre-ba.
Will I ever be able to sleep braless again?x

Less than a week for you now Trudster! I'm not sure whether we have to wear sports bras because they offer us the most solid support. Ask your nurse/surgeon though xx

I love my sports bra...was on hol last week and sunbathed in it. Its an M&S one and has zip at front. Everyone has asked where i got it from. I have some 'post surgery bras' but not wearing these till after 6 weeks. They are designed more for ladies who have had constructive work say due to cancer and waiting reconstructive surgery so often have pockets for padding/gel. Very comfy tho...I got mine in M&S sale for £1!!! x

I have to agree with you hun as i found my sports bras really uncomfortable when i had to wear them in the 1 six weeks but i think it was just because my boobs were healing & i was not very used to having boobs!

Now I love wearing them! my boobs have setteled & they fit me fab & give lots off support I think anythiny you wear in the 1st 6 weeks will feel a bit uncomfy.
