Damn fags!

Hi ladies
My op is two weeks today. I can't believe this time in two weeks I'll have my new boobs.

They said it's essential that you stop smoking and drinking 2 weeks before at the very latest and stop smoking for two weeks after surgery, drinking 48 hours after. The surgeon said to me he often sees girls going out in their gown for a fag after surgery (!) but it's so dangerous and smokers are 10 times more likely to get an infection.

I cannot begin to describe how much I NEED a bloody cigarette right now. I am going mad! BUT - according to my smoke free iPhone app (lol!) I've not had a fag for a massive 21 hours! yipee

I realise for the non-smokers on here, this post is probably really irritating but for any ladies going through the same, I'd love some words of advice!

Im with you on this sweetie, i have my op in 10 days and i have been smoking for two days, after only falling off the wagon a few times over the last 2 weeks, it is very hard.

I think i am a bit more relaxed now as we found out the PIPs are not toxic so now i can just enjoy the build up. I am not going to have any more now ever! i want to heal well, i have heard some who have been ok but i wouldnt want to chance it. I have already gone on longer than i would have hoped so no more.

Congratulations on your 21 hours, keep it going! A lot of girls on here recommend Allen Carrs books for stopping smoking, might be worth a try. All the best, and start the countdown to boobie day, yay! xx

Well done girls I had already stopped when had my kiddies so didn't have to go through it when I had the op but I know what you are going through and everyone you don't have is a breakthrough so well done and keep it up it will all be worth it when you get your new boobies xx

I found it hard too.. stopped few months ago because of my op,gave in a few weeks into it :(because of a girly night out think a had about 30 that ngt Hysterical

what a ngt, two days to recover lol anyways

took me a wk to get my head round stopping again lol thats me now havent smoked for 3 wks come tomorrow dance

dont get me wrong i was a phsyco for two days and ate like a horse for about a wk but got there in the end and im never gonny start again.

if i can do it ANYONE can just keep telling yourself i want boobs more than a FAG!!! its got to be done.

Well done so far, your heading in the right direction and as peachy said every one you don't smoke is a breakthrough! I have managed 3 weeks today without a cigarette and it's not been easy - especially with an OH who smokes! Just keep thinking that boobies are more important than ciggies and you'll get through!

It really is worth it if you can,i gave up on the 22nd Aug, had my BA on the 31st, it was hard, but i'm still smoke free after 14 days.
I don't feel like crap in the mornings which is lovely, yes i still miss them but i really want to stick to it this time.
Just think of those boobies that's what i did, i even bought one of those electronic cigarettes from betterware catalogue, they might be worth a go, not got any nicotine in them either just vapour. XX

I'm a non smoker and don't find your post at all irritating babe, infact, quite the opposite, I think it admirable that you're stopping to get the best from the surgery you want.

A 'few' ladies enter this surgery just thinking about boobs and not taking into account the risks involved. As with any addiction it's bloody hard to give up, but focusing on the reasons why you're giving up and realising the consequences if you don't makes you a very strong person hunni who isn't taking this surgery lightly - that I admire babe.

hi i stopped smoking few monthsb4 my op its not easy but easy way alan carr and lots of walking got my through the tough times 3 years since i packed up now it can be done u just gotta want it bad enough xxxx

Hi...Ive booked for removal and replacement of my pips in january and also need to get my head round giving up smoking. Last time was easy because I was soooo excited to get my new boobies (gave up for about 9 months,dont even know why i started again). Ive got months before my re-op but last time I only had weeks. Really need to give myself a start date because the sooner the better i suppose, just seem to be lacking the inspiration to do so. Well done to all the girls already given up thumbs up

...its really important, apparantly the body is quite a high percentage less efficient at healing itself when smoking, so keep it up....x

Awwww hun i so no what your going through trying to stop now .... Mind you have the cleanest teeth in town as constently brushing them and chewing gum lol.......
Every time I think of one I think of nasty infections and rub my patch hahaha

Oh girls - you're all bloody lovely! Thanks for the kind words of encouragement and well done to those who are also stopping.

I suppose it's made it all the more hard because
I didn't actually want to stop. It's because I
know I HAVE to otherwise there's the greater risk
Of infection. Don't get me wrong, I am going to
feel so much better for it but I'm also feeling very bitter cos there's nothing I love more than a cigarette! In fact earlier today I just had a bloody old cry and a sulk!

But enough of the self pity from yours truly... Less than two weeks now until I have my new boobs!

It's awful, in times of worry and stress fags are a real comfort and then your told at the very time you need them you have to go it alone. You only needed to look at the smoking areas they had at airport before the smoking ban. You'd all be hundled together in a smog filled room, sucking the life out of one last fag before you board the plane. And it was great!

I know how hard it can be. Although I gave up 2 years ago, i could pick one up now and enjoy it just as much. Think of it this way, it's 4 weeks (I wont say only) and then you can sit in front of the mirror with your new tits and smoke provocatively and practice looking sexy!

Think your doing really well chic

Im a smoker and so no that once my ba date is set then i have to stop so not looking forward to it at all

Im planning on trying an ap on my iphone. too i got one called confidence by Andrew Johnson and its like a relaxation thing. i play it at night and next thing i know its morning and ive had one of the best nights sleep ever. its only been just over a week but really starting to feel more confident and less anxious (quite suprised really lol) shrug

Been checking out his other aps and he has got one on stopin smoking and he has some really great reviews, its roughly about £1.80. So im gona give it a go when its my turn

Dont know if this is any use to you chic and ill keep my fingers crossed for u, good luck xx

keep thinking of the healing. thats how i am doing it. i have (almost) given up for 2 weeks tomorrow. (op tomorrow) and i have had about 6 or 7 in that time. was on 30 a day. got patches on though. its really hard as i am having a really bad time in my personal life (relationship breakup) so not the best time to give up! but as i say, just focus on the healing. im like tinks, i keep rubbing my patch as well :good:

also i have noticed my heart rate has dropped substantially since i have given up. i regularly had a heartbeat of nearly 100 in the morning, for the past 2 days its only been 60. monitor yours to, it will give you more incentive when you can see what its doing as just knowing about your lungs because you cant actually see them doesnt really make much difference!
