Sunbed advice/opinion
Okay im not a tango'ed sunbed queen and i know they are really bad for you but i go on normally every other week or something just to give myself a bit of colour and to help the skin on my face (its oily and spot prone)
Iv been fake tanning but darent put it on my face (as used to have acne and terrified of it giving me lots of spots) I am in dire need of a sunbed on my face to clear it up but i am only 1 month post op tomorrow.
Should i risk it with my top over my boobs or not really??
If not when can i go on?
Thanks

well take the usual precautions and yes i would wear a top over your boobs, your scars are still new skin and shouldnt be exposed to that intense light and burn!

Try the towel over them rather than a top dont want any rays touching the scars x

I only usually go on for 6 minutes so might risk it tomorrow with the towel over me

Make sure your whole boobs are covered as the stretched skin is hyper sensitive to the rays and might get damaged not only the scars! XX

I went on last year about a month post op. I covered my whole boob area with a towel and I was fine. xx

Re: Sunbed advice/opinion
Honestly keep something over your boobs! I'm over a year post op now and went on the sunbed recently. The area of skin around my boobs peeled really badly - wasn't sore or burned but wasn't right either. I'd always covered them up until then. I know sunbeds are a bit of a no go but I do find them so relaxing now and again.

Me too and it just makes my skin look soo much nicer, think i will go for it for 6 mins with the towel over me and keep vest on over boob area, I kno what u mean about the peeling Sally whilst i was off work following the op it was super hot and i sat outside a bit too long and had a little bit of peeling afterwards so i will defo be careful about my whole boob area.
Thanks girls
Thanks pink babe I am a month post op today same as you were when you went on :)

Re: Sunbed advice/opinion
Just found this post while searching about sunbeds. Can anyone advise how to cover your boobs safely while standing up in the sunbed??
I just wouldn't want to wrap a towel all the way round so I had a big strip on back too!

kld I wouldn't have thought you'd need to cover your whole boob area as you're so far post op your skin wont be over-stretched anymore. But just make sure you cover all scars, I use micropore tape (2 layers for the first few months to be sure!). xx

Thanks mrsm, I had awful visions on me going into the booth
Kazaa, thanks for your suggestion I have used St Tropez cream but like most self tanning products I miss areas sometimes and I have a special occasion coming up so I don't want any marks.

Re: Sunbed advice/opinion
ive been on and im only 3weeks post op. I used to be an e cup tyhen shrunk to a c cup, just had my boob job taking me up to an ff, but i think the skin has just been filled back out again, as my nurse said i had practicallly no swelling and no bruising. My skin never felt tight or stretched so i think i shud have been ok!?? i only went on for 6 mins and covered my scars. My skin was fine and i experienced no probs wot so ever. Maybe it depends on how much ur skin was stretched if it was. xxx

Re: Sunbed advice/opinion
I always thought research showed that spot prone skin only gets worse from tanning it due to the excess oil getting a tan produces. I dont know. But I would be very careful with scars.
